We had an excellent time fishing with you on the weekend of June 8,2008.
My father, step son, Brother, cousin and I all enjoyed the trip.
We were a little skeptical at first. We thought all the good hype was just " fish stories" until you "rang the dinner bell" that was truly some awesome fishing. I have several other relatives that are now trying to rearrange schedules so we can come up there and show them what it is all about.

We will definitely be back again

Thank you again for the wonderful time we had fishing with you last week. Everyone loves the pictures of the fish we caught and I can't wait to get mine back from being mounted. I recently took Melanie and the boys on a fishing trip on Lake Texoma. If you’re not from Texas or Oklahoma, Lake Texoma is a rather large reservoir where the Red and Washita Rivers meet, along with several small tributaries. The lake is about an hour north of Dallas-Ft. Worth. Lake Texoma has acquired the reputation as one of the premier fishing lakes in the southwestern U.S. and is sometimes known as the Striped Bass Capital of the World. Ok, enough of the fast facts and on to the fishing!!! Because none of had ever fished for Stripers before, we decided to hire a fishing guide. I will say now that while it does require spending some money, I highly recommend hiring a guide. We chose to hire Jay “Action” Jackson because of his competitive pricing and availability on the date we chose. Our day started very early awaking at 4:30 a.m., as we live about 45 minutes from the marina where Jay works out of. Not only was Mr. Jackson fun to be around, but he was very knowledgeable as to where he could have us catching fish. We left the marina a bit after 6 a.m., and within 15 minutes he had us on top of a large school of feeding stripers. Now let me explain that Lake Texoma’s striped bass limit is 10 fish per person, and 2 of the fish can be over 20”. Right now if you can, find a tape measure or a ruler and measure yourself 20 inches. It’s a pretty good sized fish, probably averaging 5-8 lbs. Now don’t get me wrong, all of the fish we caught that were under this 20” restriction, only missed the cut by 1-2”. I’m here to tell you, we caught lots of fish and most of them we’re over 20 inches. Jay had a great boat where we all had plenty of room to be comfortable, and didn’t have to worry about crossing our fishing lines. We ended up keeping 23 fish, out of about 35-40 fish caught; which translated into 3 large 1 gallon freezer bags full of fillets. We all had a blast, and were all sold on being a repeat customer to Mr. Jackson when our finances will allow it. I strongly urge you to fish Texoma, and to hire Jay Jackson as his nickname “Action” proved to be quite true. After we arrived back at the marina, Mr. Jackson cleaned, filleted, and bagged all the fillets for us. If you have never been fishing for Stripers, or if you have kids, you’re in for memories that’ll last a lifetime. If you decide to book a trip with Jay, you tell him Buddy Miller sent you there, not only do I consider him the Striper guide I’ll continue to use, I now consider him a personal friend.
